Glorious scenery on Scotland’s west coast
Yesterday I visited the soon to re-open Loch Inver Hotel and it is looking wonderful. The new suite has what could well be the most spectacular view in Scotland.
The hotel opens on 1st April and I can’t wait to get back. The shot shows a view from near Loch Broom on my way up.
Luxury Scotland at ITB, Berlin
Just come back from ITB in Berlin, the second largest travel show in the world. With 25 halls and 18,000 exhibitors there was no shortage of someone to talk to. Despite the level of competition, we had a good demand for news from luxury Scotland and our members.
We launched our 2010 brochure which now has 24 of the finest luxury hotels in Scotland.
MV Hebridean Princess in Fairlie
Had a delicious lunch on MV Hebridean Princess while she was berthed at Fairlie, a beautiful day, even for the west coast of Scotland, and the picture shows the mountains of Arran with snow on their peaks.
Almost sailing time again
The weather here in central Scotland is beautiful, just enough wind on the Firth of Forth to fill a spinnaker, time to get these boats off their trolleys and into the water at Dalgety Bay.
Driving in Scotland
Just returned from the Galloway Forest Park in the south of Scotland after visiting Knockinaam Lodge and Turnberry
. Almost deserted roads, stunningly beautiful countryside with a light dusting of snow on the top on the hills, one of the few places in the world where it is still fun to drive. Scotland is the best small country in the world, who would want to live anywhere else?
